QUOTATIS FORMS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH:

FENSA

When having windows and doors replaced, homeowners MUST comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure that they get a certificate of compliance from FENSA or from Local Authority Building Control.

FENSA currently works with over 9,000 Registered Businesses throughout England and Wales.

An independent report commissioned by the Government found FENSA to be the most successful of all competent person schemes to date in the UK, across all industries. FENSA is the leading brand recognised by consumers, all Local Authorities, industry and Government.

WHY HOMEOWNERS SHOULD USE FENSA?

  • The FENSA standard is the industry standard for self replacement window and door installers self certifying compliance with the building regulations.
  • The recognised industry leader, FENSA guarantees customer satisfaction.
  • FENSA is the leading brand recognised by consumers, all local authorities, industry and government.
  • FENSA is set up by the industry, run by the industry, for the industry to help protect homeowners.
  • Together with FENSA, the industry is moving forward.
  • Lost homeowner certificates are easily ordered online.
  • FENSA doesn't demand a particular insurance scheme - homeowners and installers have freedom of choice.
  • Homeowners owning multiple properties across different local authorities can use a single FENSA registered business who will work towards one consistent standard of rules, instead of obtaining approval from the building control authorities separately.

Windows - Double Glazing UPVC

This is the most highly popular material for windows and doors today, this benefits from little or no external maintenance and this is an excellent, highly insulate material, this is the lowset cost option out of the three materials. Internally beaded windows (where the double glazing glass is held from the inside) is considered more secure and burgular resistant. A much more environmentally friendly choice as you will be keeping your home warmer by insulating it rather than using energy from central heating.

Glaziers include windows, doors, porches and conservatories. Glaziers install windows and mirrors in homes and other buildings. They may install new double glazing glass or repair broken panes. When possible, glaziers cut glass in the shop rather than at the job site. They start by choosing glass that meets the needs of the task. For example, they might choose thicker, stronger glass for a shower stall than for a window. Glaziers put uncut glass on a cutting table and measure the cutting line. They use a glass-cutting tool with a hard wheel to mark the cutting line. By pressing the cutter's wheel firmly on the glass, glaziers cut into the surface of the glass. This process is known as "scoring" the surface. By pressing on the shorter end of the glass, glaziers break it along the score line. Once the glass is cut, glaziers may cut and apply anti-glare film to reduce glare. Glaziers may not cut all of their glass. Sometimes they order pre-made windows. For these items, glass is cut at a factory and installed in a frame before it is sent to glaziers.

"The sash window has been a feature of British housing for several centuries. The general design has been improved and updated, so that as well as gliding smoothly up and down, sash windows can also easily be tilted inwards for easy cleaning. Each double glazing sash can be tilted inwards to allow for easy cleaning.
