Why do I need expansion gaps between the flooring and walls?

Depending on the flooring you lay, you will beed between 10mm and 15mm gaps at the edges of your room. This is to accomodate for temperature and humidity fluctuations that cause your floor to expand and contract. Don’t worry – the gaps will be covered by your skirting board.
