Composite Doors in Kenley

Do you need to replace your front door? There are plenty of options available to you but none as popular as composite entrance doors. But why is this particular type of door the nation’s most-loved and why should you consider this for your own household?

There are several reasons to pick out a composite door. To start with they look superb and there's a wide variety of choice both in design and style from which to choose. If you desire a modern-day overall appeal then you can certainly get exactly that, with contemporary designs to go together with the times. But if you want the overall appeal of standard front doors, you can also find Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian designs to select from.

As well as this you are able to decide on a colour that properly suits your house. Whether you choose a classic white or black door, or might desire the bold red, blue or green, the ultimate decision is yours.

But why don't you consider the composite door’s additional features? Along with a strong overall look, you benefit from great insulation and a long-lasting, resistant installation. The construction of the door guarantees heat is unable to pass thorough and exit your home, bringing down your expensive energy bills.

Composite doors are built to resist impacts and the weather too, lasting for decades with essentially no maintenance. A GRP (Glass reinforced plastic) skin enables you to protect the front door ensuring it continues to look great for years to come.

Kenley

Kenley is a district in the south of the London Borough of Croydon (in times past in Surrey). Kenley is situated 13 miles south of Charing Cross. Significant sections of Kenley lie within the Metropolitan Green Belt. In particular, the south of Kenley is dominated by the open green areas of Kenley Common and Kenley Aerodrome. The 2011 census showed Kenley having a population of 14,966. For centuries, Kenley belonged to Coulsdon Manor which covered the entire area and was predominantly farm land, with a couple of huge homes and their estates. The formal opening of the railway on 4 August 1856 changed Kenley. The brand-new railway prompted urban development. By the end of the Victorian era, Kenley had acquired its own identity. Kenley Common comprises fifty-six hectares of green open space surrounding a former Battle of Britain airfield. It is a blend of chalk grassland and ancient woodland set among gently rolling hills. Blessed with great views across the Caterham valley and the North Downs beyond, visitors find it tough to think that the centre of London is just 14 miles to the north. Among Kenley's landmark buildings is the Memorial Hall. It was opened in 1922 to honour those who gave their lives in World War I. It was later extended and re-opened by Group Captain Douglas Bader in 1975. Hammond Innes' book Attack Alarm was based on his experiences as a Royal Artillery anti-aircraft gunner at RAF Kenley through the Battle of Britain. It includes graphic descriptions of the station and attacks on it in 1940. English Heritage defined Kenley as the "most complete fighter airfield linked to the Battle of Britain to have actually survived". For all your home refurbishments, make sure to identify reputable specialists in Kenley to make certain of quality.

FAQs

what type of lock is on a composite door?

Do you have a composite door and wondering the best type of lock that can be used on your prized asset. To choose the right type of lock for a composite door, it’s of utmost importance to select one that’s designed to work perfectly with the composite configuration. By doing this, you’ll improve the security of your home while also achieving the desired look. To secure a composite door, the most common way is by incorporating a high security multipoint lock. Therefore, depending on the look you want for your door as well as how you want it to function, here are the four types of locks you can consider to go with your composite door.

• Split Spindle Lock

A split spindle lock would be your best bet if you’d like to automatically prevent access to your home from the outside. This lock allows you to open your door smoothly by utilizing the inside handle, however, you’ll need a key to turn the latch bolt to gain access back inside.

• Lever or Lever Lock

If you want an unhindered access in and out of your property, a lever lock gives you this opportunity without the need for a key until it’s totally deadlocked. The lever lock is installed to the back door which makes unauthorized entry even less likely.

• Slam Lock

If you’d prefer a super fast locking, then this lock type is your answer! It automatically triggers the lock hooks immediately you close the door - without having to lift the handle. However, to gain access to the inside of your home or bolt the door from the inside, you’ll need a key.

• Key Wind-Up Lock

This lock is wholly key operated and totally handle-free. Immediately the door is closed, the latch bolt will be automatically activated, ensuring that a key would be needed to gain access back inside.

how much is a composite front door?

Composite front doors offer a wide range of benefits which includes numerous style and colour options, increased security, personalization options, durability as well as low maintenance requirements. However, with so many options available in the market, it’s also expected that the prices would vary greatly depending on many factors. These factors include the colour, style of the composite door, glazing option, door furniture as well as security locks.

Individual materials incorporated manufacturing a composite door plays their own important role with unique properties which are perfectly blended to give the strongest and most durable door materials currently available in the market. These materials are pressed and glued together as they’re subjected to high pressure conditions.

The need to counteract the weaknesses found in most single material doors, ultimately gave birth to the development of composite doors - which puts together several materials with specific properties to cancel out each others’ excesses or weaknesses. Purchasing a composite door means a valuable investment in a sturdy door frame manufactured using the toughest and most robust materials. In other words, you’re increasing the security of your home, enjoying the weatherproofing qualities of the door and also giving you a peace of mind knowing both your loved ones and properties are safe, well protected and secured. Apart from the materials used in making the door, you’re also provided with an array of choices when it comes to the personalization of the door to your needs and taste. You can choose from a variety of colours, woodgrain effects, textures as well as finishes.

Overall, composite doors also requires little maintenance and are very durable. Generally, the composite is weather and fade resistant so you won’t have to worry about spending either time or money for the care or maintenance of your door even after frequent or heavy usage.
