Daventry

Daventry is a market town in Northamptonshire. It is 76.4 miles north-northwest of London and 13.9 miles west of Rugby. Sitting between 135 and 160 metres above sea level, it is encompassed by hillsides reaching heights of 225 metres. Daventry is located on the watershed of the River Leam, which travels to the west of England, and the River Nene, which travels east. Having said that, there is not a river in the town and the most substantial bodies of water stem from 2 reservoirs that supply the canal that swings from Watford Gap into the West Midlands through a 1.9 kilometre long Braunston Tunnel. Daventry is traditionally a rural town with a small population, having around 4000 residents in 1950. Growth took place from 1955 when British Timken, the tapered roller bearing maker, developed a large factory in the town. Coupled with being designated as an 'overspill' to settle people and industry from Birmingham in 1966 as part of an agreement with Birmingham City Council, the town continued to grow. There are a number housing estates, including Drayton, Middlemore Farm, Long Farm, Ashby Fields, Royal Oak, Timken, Stefen Hill, The Grange, The Southbrook and the Headlands. Irrespective of such expansion, it did not reach the target population of 36000 by 1981, and the population of the town was recorded as 25026 in the 2011 Census. The contemporary property and industrial development surrounds the town's historical market centre. 74 landmarks and buildings in Daventry's town centre are on the List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest led by the Church of Holy Cross at Grade I, and structures including Market Place and the Danetre Hospital Offices are Grade II listed. For all your home upgrades, make certain to make use of reliable specialists in Daventry to make particular of quality.

FAQs

how to fit a upvc door?

In the past traditional door were usually made from wood and they’re normally good enough at doing the job they were required to do. However, with the advent of far more effective door building materials such as the affordable composites and UPVC, wooden doors are no longer in vogue. Being strong enough to provide the required security for home, low maintenance requirement as well as offering a strong seal and great insulating qualities, both UPVC and composite doors are among the most poplar options available in the market today. So if you’re looking to install a UPVC door in your home or property, you’d probably be wondering how to go about the task. Well, you’ve come to the right place! We’d recommend you hire the services of a professional door installer who can guarantee the best results especially if you lack proper training and experience to complete the job. In this guide, however, you’ll given a good insight into the UPVC door installation process.

• Take the measurement of the entrance to ensure the new door is the right size.

• Remove the old frame and wipe out any old mortar, sealant and any other debris.

• Resting the sill on the brickwork, make use of packers and spirit level to put the new frame in place. Check that the frame is placed the right way with drainage holes at the bottom and also level.

• Once the frame has been successfully put in place, the next line of action is to secure it. To do this, simply drill a hole through the frame. Use a masonry drill through the pilot hole and into the brickwork and ensure a tight fit with the help of packers, then put the anchor into place. Once done, make use of the fixing screw to secure the frame.

• Upon completion, you then have to put the door into place. Make sure the door is toed and heeled so as to avoid unnecessary issues in the future.

What colours could I have my doors painted?

The colours available will depend on the material of the door. Timber or aluminium doors can be painted to many different RAL colours. uPVC doors are generally available in fewer colours, but they can still be matched to many existing designs. A window and door company will be able to advise what optionas are available to suit your property.

how much do french patio doors cost?

It’s usually quite easy to purchase a new door off the shelf, however if you have a goal of keeping costs under control then you must make sure you think it through before making a decision. Otherwise, you could just be storing up some trouble and expenses here and there for yourself later in the future. So if you’re wondering how much French patio doors cost, you’ve come to the right place! The cost of French patio doors largely varies based on some determining factors. These factors include:

• Glazed insert sections

• Surrounding door frames’ quality.

• Varying or non standard threshold levels.

• French patio door furniture which includes locks, handles, weather strips and letter boxes.

• Unique surfaces such as colours or wood grains.

• Above standard thermal performance

• Side and top panel will surely lead to additional costs.

Apart from these factors and unless you’re going to undertake the project by yourself which is not advisable especially if you lack proper training and experience, then you’ll have to put into consideration the labour cost to remove the old door and install your new French patio door. Labour costs also varies a lot depending on your special requirements, time taken as well as the company chosen.

Generally, French patio doors are widely regarded to be the people’s choice in the UK. They feature two doors which open outwards from the centre which results in a wide opening to the rear garden from the house. So exactly how much do French patio doors cost?
