Tower Hamlets

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is a London borough to the east of the City of London and north of the River Thames. Covering a total area of roughly 7.63 square miles, it's in the eastern part of London and covers much of the traditional East End. The London Borough of Hackney lies to the north of the borough whilst the River Lea forms the boundary with the London Borough of Newham towards the east. Around the other side of the Thames is the London Borough of Southwark to the southwest, The London Borough of Lewisham to the South, as well as the Royal Borough of Greenwich to the southeast. The River Lea also forms the boundary between those parts of London historically in Middlesex, with those formerly in Essex.

In line with population estimates made during 2014, the borough includes a permanent population of about 284015 people. Additionally, it includes a great deal of the redeveloped Docklands region of London, including West India Docks and Canary Wharf.

The borough is also relatively well-known for being home to the Women's Library in Aldgate, which is Great Britain's major library and museum resource on women and the women's movement, especially concentrating on Britain during the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition, a part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is in Tower Hamlets.

FAQs

what is a patio door?

As you would have guessed, patio doors are exactly what the name suggests. They mainly act as a means by which you can access your patio from inside your house. As a result, they’re mostly fitted at the rear of your home which leads out to the garden and ultimately, the patio. In recent times, it’s mostly unlikely to see patio doors installed in homes without patios or homes with deckings instead. Generally, patio doors feature large floor to ceiling windows that are able to offer a wide open view of your garden as well as patio. In short, these characteristics are what mainly makes them unique from other normal exterior doors.

There are different types of patio doors which you can choose from and all with their own unique installation costs.

• Sliding Doors

Due to their space saving qualities, this type of sliding door are a popular choice amongst homeowners. As the name suggests, they basically slide across panels rather than opening in or out. This style also comprises the most significant windows which gives you a wider and clearer view of your garden while also allowing more natural light into the house.

• French Doors

Offering a standard design with two different panels with each able to swing wide open on its own, the French door is a conventional style door popular amongst traditionalists. French doors are generally stylish and very energy efficient, however they tend to consume more space within your home. It comes with several designs and a variety of colours to choose from.

• Bifold Doors

Bifold doors are the ideal choice if you want a more modern style for your home. These doors almost folds itself whether open or closed. Generally, they move along a track similar to sliding doors, but each panel folds when open. Here, you’re still offered the floor to ceiling wide open windows which further makes the overall effect even more special.

What colours could I have my doors painted?

The colours available will depend on the material of the door. Timber or aluminium doors can be painted to many different RAL colours. uPVC doors are generally available in fewer colours, but they can still be matched to many existing designs. A window and door company will be able to advise what optionas are available to suit your property.

how much is a upvc door?

But if you’re not sure or confused as to where to begin, why not start with what your visitors will first see when they come visiting - the door? Not only will the installation of new double glazed doors help to maximize your home’s selling power, but can also go a long way to increase the value of your property if you’d like to sell it in the future.

One of the most crucial components of the home that you can improve is UPVC doors and windows. This is due to the fact that replacing these components happen to be a great way of making your home more energy efficient, while also improving its visual appeal as well as several other benefits. So if you’re considering getting UPVC doors fitted in your home, you might want to know the cost involved. how much do french patio doors cost?

It’s usually quite easy to purchase a new door off the shelf, however if you have a goal of keeping costs under control then you must make sure you think it through before making a decision. Otherwise, you could just be storing up some trouble and expenses here and there for yourself later in the future. So if you’re wondering how much French patio doors cost, you’ve come to the right place! The cost of French patio doors largely varies based on some determining factors. These factors include:

• Glazed insert sections

• Surrounding door frames’ quality.

• Varying or non standard threshold levels.

• French patio door furniture which includes locks, handles, weather strips and letter boxes.

• Unique surfaces such as colours or wood grains.

• Above standard thermal performance

• Side and top panel will surely lead to additional costs.

Apart from these factors and unless you’re going to undertake the project by yourself which is not advisable especially if you lack proper training and experience, then you’ll have to put into consideration the labour cost to remove the old door and install your new French patio door. Labour costs also varies a lot depending on your special requirements, time taken as well as the company chosen.
