Barnehurst is a town and district in South East London in the London Borough of Bexley. It is north east of Bexleyheath, and is 13 miles east south-east of Charing Cross. It's separated from North Bexleyheath by the A220 Erith Road.

The town was established soon after the sale of land in 1881 to construct the Bexleyheath loop line between Lewisham and Dartford. Its name hails from the name of the railway station, which was named after Colonel Barne, who owned a nearby property and was vice-chairman of the railway company. Right now, the railway station runs trains in between London Charing Cross, London Victoria or London Cannon Street, by means of Lewisham and Eltham towards the west and Dartford railway station to the east. There are 12 trains an hour during the week; on Sundays, there are four trains each hour. The railway station was openedto stimulate the construction of houses. The Barnehurst Estate was built in 1926 which housed a lot of individuals.

As well as the railway station, Barnehurst is served by 5 buses, 1 of which goes to the popular Bluewater Shopping Centre. There are limited buying or leisure opportunities inside the town, so people often visit surrounding places utilising public transport links or the main roads.
