Kensington and Chelsea

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is an inner London borough of Royal borough status, towards the west of the centre. The borough was formed in 1965 from the former boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea. Kensington's Royal Borough status was inherited by the new borough. It covers an area of 4.68 square miles. As the smallest borough in London as well as the second smallest district in England, this urban area is one of the most densely populated in the United Kingdom.

As outlined by estimates in the middle of 2014, the borough features a permanent population of around 156190 people.

The borough is immediately to the west of the City of Westminster and towards the east of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It contains major museums and universities in Albertopolis, department stores like Harrods, Peter Jones and Harvey Nichols, and embassies in Belgravia, Knightsbridge and Kensington Gardens. It's home to the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe's biggest. It contains lots of the most highly-priced residential districts in London and even in the world, along with districts with high levels of social housing and poverty. The local authority is Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council. The borough's motto is Quam Bonum in Unum Habitare, which is often roughly translated as 'How good to dwell in unity'.

Where can I buy kitchen cabinets?

When you’re building or redesigning your kitchen, one of the most important decisions you’d have to make is your kitchen cabinets. They are basically where you’ll keep everything you use to cook and as such, take up a lot of space in the kitchen. Therefore, if the aesthetic of your kitchen is a priority, then you’d probably want to get the best quality and good looking cabinet you possibly can. If you’re in the market for new kitchen cabinets, you can put these sources of cabinets into consideration. Let’s take a look!

  • IKEA. One of the best place to buy affordable home goods is also a great place to check if you want to buy your kitchen cabinets. According to a research carried out by J.D Power which surveyed over 1500 customers within the past one year, IKEA’s cabinet system ( Sektion) ranked the highest in terms of the overall satisfaction.
  • KraftMaid. Another winner of the survey conducted by J.D Power as it took the second position when it comes to the overall satisfaction.
