Landscaping in Great Missenden

Seeking landscape designs specialists in Great Missenden? Our landscape design specialists in Great Missenden will be able to offer the top quotes for having professional landscaping undertaken.

Landscaping is the phrase used for when features of land are transformed, typically in an effort to ensure it is more pleasing or practical. Areas that can be landscaped include gardens, fences, properties and structures.

Examples of the very popular reasons for having an area landscaped include bettering the first impression of your home, improving health benefits and adding value to your property.

A highly maintained landscape will increase the value of your property, whilst poorly maintained gardens will see a decrease and put off potential customers. Also, with a selection of trees, shrubs and plants you'll be able to enhance air quality plus your body's healthiness.

An attractive garden will help get rid of the worries of the day whenever you return from work in the evening. A well-kept garden is a good place to relax during the warm months and may also help you unwind after a busy day.

We are able to supply you with up to four landscaping professionals in the area, who will provide quotations for the work you want done. You'll get a house visit from professionals in Great Missenden who will help you choose the right design for your home ahead of finishing the project.

Landscaping will take any amount of time, based on the size of your land and what you want completed.

Great Missenden

Great Missenden is an affluent village of some 2000 residents in the Misbourne Valley in the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire, England. It is positioned between the towns of Amersham and Wendover, with direct rail connections to London Marylebone. It closely adjoins the villages of Little Kingshill, Little Missenden and the larger village Prestwood. The narrow and historic High Street is bypassed by the main A413 London to Aylesbury Road. It lies in the heart of The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The source of the Misbourne is to be located just north of the village, although the upper reach of the river runs only in winter and the perennial head remains in Little Missenden. The village is now known as the home of the late Roald Dahl, the internationally famous children's author. The village has actually consistently promoted in 'Best Places to Live' lists. The Guardian, as an example, displayed a short article referring to how the village has been 'prime stockbroker belt for over a century' and said favourably on its 'ancient churches, beech woods, deep valleys, rolling Chiltern Hills, higgledy-piggledy streets'. The Telegraph also ranked the village fourth in its 'Best Places to Raise a Family in the UK' 2015 study. Great Missenden lays on a primary route in between the Midlands and London. Various coaching inns, specifically the Red Lion, which is now an estate agency, and The George provided rest and beverage for visitors and their horses. Following the arrival of the Metropolitan Railway in 1892, Great Missenden transformed into a commuter village for London with journalists, performers as well as Prime Ministers among the travelers. Great Missenden railway station is now on the Chiltern Railways line and offers quick services running into London Marylebone. For all of your home improvements, be sure to identify dependable professionals in Great Missenden to make certain of quality.

How to draw a garden landscaping plan?

How To Draw A Garden Landscaping Plan

Are you thinking about constructing a new garden landscape? Do you have an existing one but forgot where you planted those tulip bulbs the previous autumn? Or perhaps you’re just trying to identify the exact spot where you cut back that clump of wilted foxglove, without mistakenly digging it up. For everything to be much easier when it comes to a garden landscape, it’s always a wise decision to draw a garden landscaping plan.

To get started, let’s take a look at the materials you’ll need to acquire. These includes a piece of white paper on which the existing elements on your garden will be plotted, a piece of tracing paper and tape to give options for planned additions, a pencil, an eraser as well as a measuring tape.

For more accuracy while drawing your plan, you’ll need to measure the garden’s distances, perimeter, the existing garden beds size as well as the trees’ and shrubs’ shape and size.

    • Write down the measurements taken on the scrap paper.

    • Assuming it’s a medium sized backyard garden that’s 18 feet wide, we allocated a scale of 3 feet to equal an inch.

    • Using a piece of white paper (could be graph if you wish) and a pencil, carefully outline the perimeter of the space. Once done, you can then sketch in the existing plants as well as other special features on the space (features that are of a permanent nature like trees, fences and paths).

    • Hold a piece of tracing paper and tape in on top. Then you can sketch out the plants you wish to add to fill in the spaces in the garden on the tracing paper.

How much is it to landscape a garden?

How Much To Landscape A Garden?

Also known as a nation of gardeners, the UK is filled with individuals who take their outdoors seriously. As a result, it’s little surprise many people over here employ the services of expert landscape gardeners to help out with various tasks such as decking, building patios, ponds and reshaping their gardens to keep them in a top condition and make them a lot more useful. However, before you get started with your landscape gardening task, you’d like to figure out a estimate of the amount it’s going to cost. Let’s have a look!

Providing an accurate assessment of a generic landscape gardening project is almost impossible as gardens are all unique. A total refurbishment of a big garden will definitely run into thousands of pounds even before accounting for essential items like garden furnitures and planting. We’ll break them down to smaller elements of landscape gardening and give a rough estimate of the cost.

Firstly, a patio is an effective means of increasing your garden’s usability whose cost varies depending on the materials used. Generally, a patio will cost within the range of £70 to £90. This price may be higher in areas with greater demands like London.

A decking also serves the same purposes as a patio or paved area. However, it’s usually made of wood which delivers a much more natural feel perfect for the garden. The cost of decking varies largely depending on the wood incorporated. For instance, if you opt for a cheaper wood such as pine, the cost you can expect to pay would be within the range of 60 pounds to 80 pounds per square metre. However, for more quality and durable hardwood, you’ll have to pay about 200 pounds per square metre or more.

How to plan a landscape garden?

How To Plan A Landscape Garden

If you’ve decided to go for a landscape garden, this might imply putting in new gardens entirely or probably just coming up with a planting plan for the current year. However, because you want a beautiful landscape garden doesn’t mean you can just go out, get a couple of plants and decide to plant them anywhere that looks good to you once you get home.

For a much better landscape garden, doing some proper landscape garden planning can go a long way to help you get the results you desire. So how do you plan a landscape garden?

    • Set Goals

The first step is to determine how you want the garden to feel and look, how it’s going to be used or what’s going to be used for as well as how you’ll work to boost the small ecosystem.

    • Site Plan

Identify what you already have on the site like the plants, paths, gardens etc, and draw them out perhaps on a graph paper. Once done, you can make some photocopies and start playing with different ideas.

    • Site Analysis

Carry out an in depth site analysis to identify the areas that’s sunny and shady areas as well as the ones in between. This way, you can figure out the best place to put the plants and other items.

    • Functional Diagrams

This is stage at which you go through both the site plan as well as site analysis and start to identify the right spots to position the landscape garden’s items.

    • Planting Plan

Here, you’ll decide which plants you’ll like to use on your landscape garden while also identifying what plant goes where. You’ll have to draw them at size close to what they’ll grow to become, so as to ensure there’s sufficient space for them once they grow big and tall.

Do I need a gardener or landscaper?

Do I Need A Gardener Or Landscaper?

This is a question that’s often asked by most homeowners across the globe. While it’s true that both gardener and landscaper can make your garden a lot more beautiful and pleasing to the eye, it’s also crucial to know the significant difference between the two professions.

So who is a landscaper? We have two types of landscapers: the landscape architect whose job is to design a landscape and a landscape builder whose job is to do the physical requirements of creating a landscape. Both types are very interrelated such that landscape architects can also be landscape builders or have one or more of the other type in same team (as most landscaping building projects will be supervised by a landscape architect).

Now the main difference between a landscaper and a gardener is the type or scope of work they’re qualified to undertake. Generally, landscapers require just one or more types of trade licences to work, meanwhile a gardener may or may not need a trade licence. So who is a gardener?

It’s the job of a gardener to come in and maintain the landscape garden once the landscape has successfully built the outdoor area. In other words, it’s part of a gardener’s services to prune plants, mow the lawns, do the weeding, fertilize your soil and much more. It’s not their job to construct a large retaining wall or a gazebo. And you can also be sure they won’t appear with a backhoe ready to sculpt your landscape.

Overall, deciding who to choose between a gardener and a landscape depends on the type or scope of work that’s required. With the aforementioned differences, you should be able to easily determine who to call when in need of a landscaping or gardening service.
