Fencing is important for all homes whether it is the front or back garden. From maintenance work to a complete installation of new fencing, using a reliable company is highly advised to get the best price available.
Fences act as a border to our homes and with an installation you'll increase protection to your home and stop easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are typically close to six feet high, which instantly will make it more challenging for intruders to gain entry.
Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing are usually most suited for the front garden, where security isn't as important. Instead, you're more likely to choose a front garden fence specifically for design and to add something different.
For whatever kind of fencing you're looking to have installed, make certain to use our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Northallerton.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Northallerton is a market town and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire in England. It is positioned on the Vale of Mowbray and to the north of the Vale of York. Typically, it is the county town of the North Riding of Yorkshire and after the Local Government Act of 1972 entered into effect in 1974, it has since acted as the county town of North Yorkshire. It is assumed that there have actually been settlements in the region of Northallerton ever since Roman times, however it started to grow in value from the 11th century when land was given to the Bishop of Durham by King William II. Through the time of the Bishop's authority, the town emerged as an essential centre for churchly affairs. Trade and transportation were to become more important after it was identified that the surrounding region included big reserves of phosphorous, which quickly brought business to the town thanks to of very easy trade paths. Through this time, it also ended up being a popular stopping point for coaches travelling the path between Edinburgh and London, till the arrival of the railway in the middle of the 19th century. The town was given its market town status in 1200 by Royal Charter, and there continues to be a market in the town today. Northallerton remains to be a notable retail centre for citizens, with its economy being composed mostly of light industry, commerce and farming services. For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!
Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.
It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.
When it comes to fence ownership and responsibility, this is often a subject of dispute between neighbours and understandably so. Owning a fence comes with a number of responsibilities such as arranging and paying for the maintenance and more. Therefore, if you’re not yet sure who owns the garden fence, then you’d probably want to have that sorted to make sure your property stays protected at all times. In this post, we’re going to give you an insight into some of the rules guiding fence ownership in order to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!
There’s no rule of thumb on whether you own the fence on the right hand or the left hand side of your property. Therefore, if you’ve heard any “rules that states otherwise, you can fling that out the window because not everyone will own the left hand side to their fence. The first way to determine who owns the garden fence or which side of the fence you’re responsible for is simply by looking. Although this is not guaranteed or a definite way to determine ownership, it can go a long way to give you a good idea. As you would have expected, fences are most likely built on the land that belongs to the boundary’s owner with the further edge of the fence making the actual boundary. As a result, you can determine a fence ownership simply by identifying where the frames are.
Also, you can determine fence ownership using the title deeds for an official and accurate answer. A copy should be given alongside your paperwork which is received when purchasing your house.
The most basic fencing starts at about £27 per panel. But if you want something that’s more decorative and better quality, expect to budget £30-£40 per panel. If you choose to get a professional to help you put up your fencing, they’ll probably be able to get your panels at a cheaper rate.
